Which Red Color Should You Choose For Your Shoes?
Coral, scarlet, ruby red, and burgundy…Depending on your skin tone and mood, experiment with different shades of red, whether they’re lighter or darker, and adjust the intensity. We also advise against combining various red hues and favoring just one red color for your ensemble.
This primary color can completely change the game and spruce up a plain, traditional silhouette when combined with more neutral tones. Red will appear differently on suede, grained, or patent leather when it comes to materials.
What To Wear With Your Red Shoes?
Red is (almost) always a good idea, whether it’s just a dash of color on your shoes or a full-body look.
Simple cuts with room for the color red itself are preferable for a finished red look. Red can give a simple outfit a sophisticated twist if you decide to wear it as a detail: belts, mini-bags, large tote bags, or of course red shoes… You have the choice!
How To Wear Red Shoes?
1. Black Dress With Red Shoes
An easy way to answer your red shoe styling dilemma is to go back to black. Although it looks great with any all-black outfit, I personally love the combination of black shoes and a red dress.
This consists of a black jumpsuit and pantsuit. Alternatively, you could wear a black tee and jeans with red heels or shoes!
Because wearing black with red shoes is anything but dull! In fact, a brightly colored shoe is my absolute favorite way to make a statement with a black outfit, whether it’s a jumpsuit or a little black dress. Especially a red one!
Yes, all black with red shoe outfits look amazing & will give the little black dress that je ne sais quoi, making you & your basic black stand out from the crowd. You can wear red shoes to work if you pair them with the appropriate attire.
Although I prefer wine-hued shades, especially in the fall and winter, and for more formal office attire, I also love poppy red shoes with black dresses.

Keep your purse either black or white to keep the attention on your ruby shoes.
My favorite is a matte black outfit with a matching black purse made of a material that contrasts, like patent leather. This outfit of red shoes is also cute with a black-and-white bag!
2. Black And White Outfits With Red Shoes
Black and white outfits will undoubtedly look just as fabulous, if not better if red shoes complement black as well as white does. Black and white outfits are much more alluring and will still let your red shoes stand out without dominating your ensemble.
Any of these black/white combinations or prints work for black and white stripes, polka dots, or even lace dresses, like my red booties outfit featured in my Evernew Canada review.
Wear black and white separates to work with burgundy shoes, black and white sportswear with red sneakers for a unique workout look, and black and white stripes (on a top or dress) for an instant nautical vibe.
3. White Outfits With Red Shoes
A white dress will look stunning whether you choose to wear it with red shoes, a white romper, or separates. Consider a pair of burgundy heels if you feel the contrast is a bit overwhelming for your sense of style.
Due to these, the heels’ brilliance will be diminished. Alternately, choose off-white clothing to blend in more with the shoes.
Afraid of the red shoes despite liking white? A white dress goes well with a variety of shoe colors.
An attractive addition to your white outfit and red shoes would be a black, beige, or gold clutch. Or, (all colors except green!) add a contrasting hue.) to pump up your look if you’re feeling adventurous!
4. Red Shoes With Mixed Prints
Many people shy away from wearing colored shoes with brightly colored clothing, but it’s much simpler than you might imagine, especially with red shoes!
Consider an outfit with a print that has red in it and a neutral base color (like black, white, or gray), and match your red shoes to it. like the three dresses mentioned above.
Any shoe color can use this simple styling tip. Given that yellow is a color in the print, both of the aforementioned black dresses would look fantastic with yellow shoes as well. The same can be said for how well-matched green shoes are to the featured white overalls.
Using a handbag that matches any color in your printed clothing will help you look stylish when wearing colorful outfits and red shoes. Choosing a bag with the same main color as the outfit is the simplest combination.
5. Red Shoes With Jeans + White Or Striped Shirt
If someone asked me what to wear with red shoes, I’d probably describe to them my personal preference for styling them: with jeans! In particular, red shoes and jeans with any neutral top will look fab.
But nothing beats a blue pair of jeans, a fabulous pair of red shoes, and a shirt that is mostly white! You can instantly update even your most basic wardrobe by adding a printed bomber!
This look is classic, and when you pair it with a pair of well-fitting jeans and a current blouse, your styling is on point. Want to keep your blue-jean appearance even more laid-back? Select a plain white tee.
Want to add a little rock n’ roll to your jeans and red shoes? Add a leather motorcycle jacket and a black and white striped top. There are countless ways to stylishly wear a pair of blue jeans (or white or black!) with red hot heels!
Depending on whether you select straight-leg jeans, mom jeans, boyfriend jeans, flare jeans, or skinny jeans, your red shoes, and jeans outfit will look different.
All red bags should be avoided because they will appear much less effortless than, say, neutral or contrasting colors. Green accessories should be avoided.
6. Red Shoes With Blue Dresses & Outfits
White and black aren’t the only colors that go well with red shoes, of course! Whether you’re looking to pair a baby blue, cobalt blue, or navy blue dress or outfit with red shoes, they’re all great options.
Great blue outfits to pair with red shoes include denim rompers, jumpsuits, and dresses.
I adore a contrasting purse color with red shoes and blue outfits. especially white, taupe, and beige.
7. Leopard Print Outfits With Red Shoes
Okay, so wearing a leopard print outfit might not seem like it would be simple. You’ll be shocked to learn that red shoes go well with a dress with leopard print or other patterned clothing. Consequently, I advise teaming red dresses with leopard-print shoes.
In the middle, you can see me wearing a red pair of heels and a leopard print skirt from my post featuring those items. Unexpected, entertaining, and incredibly stylish, the color pop.
This, as long as the dress or outfit isn’t too tight & revealing.
Style Advice for Purses: Contrast is optional in this case; anything goes. It will be safest in a black or white purse, so choose one of those. Evening wear could be fun with a gold clutch!

Green Outfits With Red Shoes
Any other green-hued clothing with red heels can look overly Christmas-themed and tacky with red shoes unless it is dark olive or moss green. If you love green, check out my post on green footwear in its own section.
All Red Outfits
Only wear red clothing and shoes to formal occasions like weddings or co*cktail parties. Why? Because red on red is almost never appropriate in other contexts because it is just too overwhelming. But you can undoubtedly match a bright red dress with red shoes and a burgundy dress with red shoes.
